To turn the flashlight on or off, press and hold the switch on the side for about half a second. To select a lighting mode: from the model's on position, press the button to move between Low - Med - High - Turbo levels. These operating parameters of the model were obtained as a result of laboratory experiments. Where the Fenix ​​​​ARB-L18-2600 lithium-ion battery was used at a temperature of 21+-3 degrees Celsius and a humidity of 50%-80%. Under other conditions of the external environment, as well as depending on the power supply, the real indicators of illumination may be different.

The body of the lantern is protected against overheating. This means that if the body temperature reaches 60 degrees Celsius and above, the brightness of the light is automatically reduced.

There is a function of indicating the degree of charge of the battery. When the model is off, press the button and the indicator will show the battery status for a few seconds. If the green light is on, it means that the charge is sufficient, 100%-85%. If the green light flashes, then the charge level has dropped to 85%-50%. The red light shows that the charge remains 50%-25%. When it flashes red, you need to charge the battery immediately, there is 25%-1% charge left. There is also a low voltage alert feature.
