Description

Description of the Fenix HM60R headlamp (LUMINUS SST40, ANSI 1300 lm, 18650 /CR123A):

The Fenix HM60R headlamp is characterized by a luminous flux of 1300 lumens, and the maximum distance of the beam reaches 120 meters. The model uses a Luminus SST40 diode, which gives white light, as well as a Cree XP-G2 LED, which gives neutral white light. In addition, two Everlight 2835 LEDs provide the owner with red light. The battery is a Fenix ARB-L18-3400 18650 lithium-ion battery, it is included in the set. If necessary, you can use two CR123A lithium batteries.

High beam, low beam and red light are combined. The company Fenix cares about producing the most advanced lights possible, so it is constantly improving them and producing improved models. A new characteristic of this device is the step frequency sensor: the brightness of the lantern depends on the speed of the person's movement. The Fenix HM60R head model is designed for maximum user convenience.

More detailed information about the characteristics of the lantern is given below.

Lantern control

To turn it on, you need to press and hold the button for half a second, thanks to this you get into the High Beam modes. Double-click the button to enter the functional modes. To turn off the flashlight, press and hold the button for half a second. Switch Mode Groups: When on, press and hold the switch for 1.2 seconds to switch to another brightness mode.

To select the required level: in high beam modes, when the lamp is on, press the button once to start the mode: minimum→medium→maximum→Turbo. In the functional modes, when the flashlight is on, press the button once to select the mode: Red→medium→maximum→SOS.

It should be mentioned that this headband also has the function of memorizing the selected mode. The forehead protector remembers the last used high beam brightness mode. The next time it will be switched on in the last high beam brightness mode used before switching off. Every time you enter the functional mode, the red light is activated.

As mentioned above, the headlamp has a step frequency sensor. The step frequency in the average and maximum modes is determined. A frequency of 150 steps per minute was taken as a standard parameter. At an interval from 150 steps per minute to 220 steps per minute, the brightness increases in proportion to the step frequency. When the step rate reaches 220 steps per minute, the brightness increases to 150% of the normal brightness. When the step frequency is more than 220 steps per minute, the brightness is 150% of the standard brightness. If the step frequency is less than 150 steps per minute, from 150 to 80, the brightness decreases in proportion to the step frequency. If the step frequency is 80 w/min, the brightness is reduced to 70% of the normal brightness. At a step frequency of less than 80 w/min, it will be kept at the level of 70% of the usual brightness. When it detects that the frequency is decreasing, the brightness will gradually decrease with a delay of 10 seconds.

Mode

Further lighting.
  • Turbo. The luminous flux reaches 1300 lumens, the duration of work is 2 hours, the range of the beam is 120 meters. The lighting intensity is 3400 candelas.
  • Maximum. The brightness of the light reaches 350 lumens, the working time is 8 hours, the distance of the beam is 60 meters. The lighting intensity is 913 candelas.
  • Average. The brightness of the light is equal to 130 lumens, the duration of work is 18 hours, the distance of the beam is 36 meters. The intensity of the flow is equal to 330 candelas.
  • Minimum. Lighting brightness - 30 lumens, glow duration - 54 hours, beam distance - 18 meters. The lighting intensity reaches 78 candelas.
Functional modes.
  • Maximum. Luminous flux - 350 lumens, glow time - 8 hours, beam range - 33 meters. The intensity of the flow is equal to 268 candelas.
  • Average. The luminous flux reaches 70 lumens, the duration of the glow is 24 hours, the distance of the beam is 15 meters. Light intensity is 55 candelas.
  • Red. The brightness is equal to five lumens, the duration of the glow is 100 hours, the distance of the beam is 5 meters. The light intensity is 7 candelas.
  • SOS. The brightness of the light flux is equal to 5 lumens, the duration of work is 200 hours, the range of the beam is 5 meters. The lighting intensity is equal to 7 candelas.

* All the specified parameters of the lantern were obtained during its testing in the laboratory. Where there were the following conditions: a Fenix ARB-L18-3400 Li-ion battery was used at a temperature of 21±3°C and a humidity of 50%-80%. The actual parameters of the glow may vary depending on the used power elements and environmental factors. The duration of the glow in Turbo mode is indicated in total, taking into account the drop in brightness when the overheating protection is activated.

The model has a function of determining the degree of charge. When the flashlight is off, press the button once to monitor the battery status. The charge level indicator will light up for three seconds. Green light shows 100%-85%, full charge. Green flashes: 85%-50%, sufficient charge. Red shows 50%-25%, low charge. Red flashes: 25%-1%, critical charge level, must be charged.

Overheat Protection: When the body temperature reaches 55°C, the flashlight will default to reducing the brightness by several lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 55°C, you can use the torch's Turbo mode again.
