Description of the Fenix HM70R V2 headlamp. 0 (LUMINUS SST40, ANSI 1600 lm, 21700):
The Fenix HM70R headlamp is an all-metal flashlight that provides long-range and wide-band lighting with a maximum luminous flux of 1,600 lumens and a maximum glow time of up to 100 hours. The distance of the beam reaches 186 meters in the largest mode.
The universal model is equipped with red and white light sources, as well as a red flash mode for a message. Powered by a powerful 21700 battery, and combined with an 18650 battery (with ALF-18 battery holder). The flashlight is rechargeable with a hidden USB Type-C charging port for charging anywhere. Due to the large dimensions of the switch, shock-resistant up to two meters, it can be your reliable companion for outdoor work. The lantern is ready to accompany you in various difficult activities.
Such diodes as: Luminus SST40, neutral white XP-G2 HE LED and two Everlight 2835 red light LEDs work here. Tempered ultra-transparent glass lenses with anti-glare coating are provided. The hidden USB Type-C charging port supports a charging current of up to two amps. The large switch on the body is convenient for simple and quick control. The stability of the forehead protector is facilitated by a circuit with digital current regulation.
Below - in more detail about the specifics of this lantern.
Management
The Fenix HM70R headband is controlled via a switch on the body. To turn it on, you need to press and hold the button for half a second. To exclude, you need to perform the same action. To switch between groups of modes, press and hold the button for half a second when the model is turned off. In this way, you will be able to get into the group of "main" modes. By double-clicking on the button, you can get into the group of "functional" modes. To enter another group, press and hold the button for a little more than a second.
To select a certain mode, you need to: in the "main" group, press the switch once, it will move between the minimum→medium→maximum→Turbo modes. In the group of "functional" modes, press the switch once, it will move between levels Red→medium→maximum→red flashes.
To lock the flashlight, press and hold the button for about three seconds when the flashlight is turned off, after which the forehead light will flash three times in red. This way you will be able to understand that the lock is activated. To unlock, you need to press and hold the switch for three seconds, the red diode will flash three times for one second, and the model will enter the red lighting mode. By default, the model has the option to remember the activated mode. If you turn on the lantern in a specific mode, and then turn it off, then when you turn it on again, it will start immediately at the same level that was used before turning it off.
Modes of operation of the model
Primary group
- Turbo. The brightness is 1,600 lumens, the duration of the glow is two hours, and the illumination range is 186 meters. Illumination intensity - 8667 candelas.
- Maximum. The luminous flux is 500 lumens, the duration of the glow is 6 hours, the distance of the beam is 105 meters. Flow intensity - 2752 candelas.
- Average. The luminous flux reaches 150 lumens, the duration of operation is 8 hours, the distance of the beam is 53 meters. Lighting intensity - 690 candelas.
- Minimum. The brightness of the light reaches 30 lumens, the duration of the glow is 100 hours, the range of the beam is 26 meters. The intensity of the luminous flux is 170 candelas.
Functional group
- Red. The luminous flux is five lumens, the duration of work is 400 hours, the distance of the beam is 5 meters. Lighting intensity is 8 candelas.
- Average. The luminous flux is 70 lumens, the duration of the glow is 48 hours, the range of the beam reaches 16 meters. The flow intensity is 68 candelas.
- Maximum. The brightness of the light reaches 400 lumens, the working time is 8 hours, the distance of the beam is 38 meters. Lighting intensity is 352 candelas.
- Red flashes. The brightness of the light is 5 lumens, the working time is 800 hours, the range of the beam is 5 meters. The intensity of the luminous flux is 8 candelas.
* It should be mentioned that such parameters of the forehead glow were obtained during laboratory tests. Where there were the following conditions: the air temperature reached 21 + -3 degrees Celsius, the humidity was about 50% -80%. Fenix ARB-L21 - 5000 lithium-ion battery was used. The actual brightness of the lantern may vary depending on which power cells are used, as well as environmental conditions.
Here there is a function of indicating the battery charge level. When the flashlight is off, press the button once, the battery status will be displayed. The indicator will be on for three seconds. The green light shows that the charge is full, 100%-85%. Green flashes indicate that the charge remains 85%-50%. This is a sufficient level. A red light indicates that the charge remains 50%-25%. And finally, the red flashes mean that the charge level is critical, only 25%-1%.
The headband accumulates a lot of thermal energy during the glow, so there is an option to protect against overheating. If the body temperature is over 65 degrees, the default brightness is reduced. When the temperature is below 65 degrees Celsius, you can return to the previous brightness.
Physical parameters of the lantern
