Description of the Fenix HM75R headlamp:
Despite the design recognizable by fans of the brand, the Fenix HM75R headlamp is able to boast of completely new features that make the model one of the most innovative lighting devices of the manufacturer.
The model is designed specifically for professional needs: for use in mining enterprises, during tourist trips, rock climbing and other types of activities where the user is in difficult conditions close to extreme and requires reliable lighting.
Fenix HM75R is equipped with four LEDs: one Luminus SST40 (6500K), two Luminus SST20 (4000K) and one red OSRAM GR QSSPA1.23. Each LED is responsible for its own group of modes.
The key feature of the flashlight is the possibility of powering from two separate power cells (the main 18650, which is installed in the battery compartment, and the remote 21700, which is attached to the headband in the back of the head). The system is called the Power Xtend System, and it extends the operating time of the LED model many times over. If desired, the user can also use only the main battery to power the flashlight.
The presence of intelligent technology for reducing light brightness is another advantage of the model. The flashlight is capable of automatically reducing the intensity of light when approaching an object closer than 60 mm. This function prevents the user from being blinded when he gets too close to objects, and also prevents the illuminated object from igniting during heating due to the influence of the super-powerful light beam.
Operating modes and control features
The Fenix HM75R flashlight has 12 modes, which are divided into 3 groups according to the type of lighting (4 modes for each group). The maximum brightness of the model reaches 1600 lumens.
The lighting parameters depend on how many batteries are used to power the lantern:
From battery ARB-L18-3400
Long range light group:
- Turbo: 1600 lm – 223 m – 1 h 30 min – 12448 cd;
- High: 800 lm – 158 m – 3 h 30 min – 6262 cd;
- Medium: 350 lm – 101 m – 11 h – 2559 cd;
- Low: 50 lm - 39 m - 50 h 50 min - 383 cd.
Low beam group:
- Turbo: 1000 lm - 60 m - 1 h 50 min - 1071 cd;
- High: 400 lm - 43 m - 4 h - 432 cd;
- Medium: 150 lm - 25 m - 8 h - 163 cd;
- Low: 5 lm - 5 m - 100 h - 10 cd.
Red light group:
- High: 120 lm - 16 m - 5 h 20 min - 70 cd;
- Medium: 30 lm - 9 m - 32 h - 20 cd;
- Low: 5 lm - 4 m - 110 h - 4 cd;
- Flashing: 5 lm - 220 h.
From batteries ARB-L18-3400 + ARB-L21-5000 V2.0
Long range light group:
- Turbo: 1200 lm – 190 m – 9 h – 9025 cd;
- High: 800 lm – 158 m – 10 h 30 min – 6262 cd;
- Medium: 350 lm – 101 m – 18 h 20 min – 2559 cd;
- Low: 50 lm - 39 m - 88 h 40 min - 383 cd.
Low beam group:
- Turbo: 700 lm – 48.5 m – 13 h – 588 cd;
- High: 400 lm – 43 m – 14 h – 432 cd;
- Medium: 150 lm – 25 m – 18 h – 163 cd;
- Low: 5 lm - 5 m - 234 h - 10 cd.
Red light group:
- High: 120 lm - 16 m - 19 h 40 min - 70 cd;
- Medium: 30 lm - 9 m - 46 h 20 min - 20 cd;
- Low: 5 lm - 4 m - 265 h - 4 cd;
- Flashing: 5 lm - 530 hours
Important! The operating time in Turbo modes is indicated taking into account the gradual decrease in light brightness, which occurs due to the activation of the overheating protection system in the event that the internal electronics reach a temperature of 60°C and above.
Interface control is implemented using a rotary button switch on the side of the case. It is enough to turn the switch to select one of the three groups of light, and then set the desired brightness with successive presses of the button.
Power supply
A pair of rechargeable 18650 and 21700 batteries are included. The battery with the largest capacity can be used as a power bank to charge other portable devices.
The flashlight is charged via a USB Type-C port. When connecting, the cable must be rotated to lock it in the connected position and prevent accidental loss. The battery charge level indicator reports the current amount of charge in the power cell.
Physical parameters
The lenses of the Fenix HM75R headlamp are made of high-quality PC-1250Z plastic made in Japan. The body material is magnesium alloy, which is not prone to rust and is resistant to direct mechanical impact. The latest metal quality gives the structure impact resistance up to 2 meters.
To prevent moisture and debris from entering the housing, the design is supplemented with a sealing ring, as a result of which the lantern's moisture protection reaches the maximum possible value of IP68. If the main ring wears out, it can be replaced with a new one - for this, the manufacturer has included a replacement ring in the kit.
The model comes with a branded forehead mount equipped with length adjusters for convenient fixation on the head or on the helmet. A special holder with dimensions of 107.7 x 28 x 28 mm is provided for the remote unit with an auxiliary battery on the rubber band.
The dimensions of the flashlight itself are 91.1 x 41 x 53.5 mm, and its weight is 321 g together with two batteries and a head mount.
