The Fenix WH23R flashlight is a forehead model with a unique gesture recognition function. When the sensor function is activated, the forehead protector can be turned on or off with a wave of the hand for tasks that require two hands. It also helps to avoid contamination of the lantern by touching it with dirty fingers.

The WH23R universal headlamp provides a maximum brightness of 600 lumens with a maximum beam range of 100 meters. The combined rotary switch can be used quickly and precisely even with gloves or frozen fingers to set the desired mode and brightness. Additional design features of the WH23R include a built-in 2000mAh battery, a USB Type-C charging port, four blue LED indicators to show remaining battery power, and a perforated headband structure for better breathability and comfort.

Two Lumileds LEDs with a service life of 50,000 hours are used for work. Charges via USB Type-C, 1.5 hours for a full charge.

Management

On the right side of the model there are rotary and electronic switches. To turn on/off: Turn the rotary switch clockwise to turn the light on, counterclockwise to turn the light off. To switch modes: turn the rotary switch in the direction of the corresponding symbol to activate the desired type of lighting.

Brightness mode selection: In high beam mode, press the electronic switch to cycle between Low – Med – High levels. In low beam mode, press the electronic button to cycle between Low – Med – High levels.

Also, the lantern has a mode memory function. The model will automatically remember the brightness level that was used before turning it off.

Brightness Modes

Main beam.

High. The luminous flux reaches 300 lumens, the duration of work is 6 hours and 19 minutes. The range of the beam is 84 meters, and the intensity of the beam is 1772 candelas.

Med. The brightness of the light is 120 lumens, the range of the beam reaches 53 meters, and the working time is 9 hours 32 minutes. The lighting intensity is equal to 689 candelas.

Low. Luminous flux - 30 lumens. The duration of the glow is 35 hours and 57 minutes. The beam distance is 26 meters, and the light intensity is 175 candelas.

Low beam.

High. Luminous flux - 300 lumens. The duration of the glow is 6 hours and 19 minutes. The range of the beam is 35 meters, and the intensity of the flow is 309 candelas.

Med. Luminous flux - 70 lumens. Working time – 15 hours and 36 minutes. The range of the beam is 17 meters, the lighting intensity is 71 candelas.

Low. Luminous flux - 5 lumens. The duration of work in this mode is 150 hours. The range of the beam is 5 meters. Intensity – 7 candelas.

Near + Far, Turbo. The luminous flux reaches 600 lumens, the working time is 3 hours and 49 minutes. The distance of the beam is 100 meters, the intensity of the flow is 2280 candelas.

Note. The specified characteristics of the lantern are based on the results of laboratory experiments. For this, a built-in lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 2000 mAh was used at a temperature of 21+-3 degrees Celsius and air humidity of 50%-80%. The actual parameters of the model's glow may vary depending on the used power supply and environmental conditions.

Intelligent sensor: the blue indicator of the intelligent recognition function is located on the left side of the flashlight and indicates the status (on/off) of this option. If it is not necessary, you can turn it off manually.

When the light is on, if the recognition function is not activated (the blue indicator is off), then the model will not respond to any user movements.

Charge level indication: From the off position of the headband, press the electronic switch once to check the battery status, the indicators will light up for three seconds. If four blue indicators are lit steadily, then the charge level reaches 100%-80%. Three blue indicators indicate that the charge is 80%-60%. Two blue indicators that are constantly lit show that the degree of charge is 60%-40%. One blue steady indicator: 40-20% charge left. One blue flash: Critically low charge, 20%-1%.

The forehead protector is intelligently protected against overheating of the case. If you use the lantern at high brightness levels for a long time, it will heat up a lot, which may cause the model to malfunction. Therefore, when a certain temperature is reached, the brightness drops slightly to avoid overheating. When the forehead has cooled down, you can return to bright lighting again.

There is also a low voltage warning option.
