The Fenix ​​Scout flashlight is a redesigned and improved version of the HM23 headlamp model, adapted to the specific needs of hikers, anglers and hunters in the field. In particular, the updated lantern is equipped with several red LEDs 2835, which expand the functionality of the model, and the possibility of disconnecting the housing from the forehead mount allows you to adjust the device to your own style of operation.

The model can emit not only a classic white light, suitable for detailed illumination of a distance of up to 66 m, but also a red beam that does not confuse night vision, does not attract insects and makes the user less visible to opponents at long distances. This feature is especially relevant for military tactical tasks.

In addition, the flashlight activates in red beam mode by default, so you don't have to worry about the light attracting unwanted attention when it's turned on.

Operating modes and control features

The interface is divided into 2 groups: 2 modes of operation with a red beam and 3 variants of white light.

Red light group

• Constant lighting: 5 lm – 5 cd – 18 h – 5 m;
• Flashing beam: 5 lm – 36 h.

Group with white light

• High: 200 lm – 1101 cd – 10 h – 66 m;
• Medium: 50 lm – 284 cd – 14 h – 34 m;
• Low: 3 lm – 16 cd – 90 h – 8 m.

Pay attention! The time of operation in the High mode is indicated together with the duration of the glow in the less bright modes, which successively replace each other when the overheating protection is triggered.

Controlling the flashlight is designed with an emphasis on simplicity and convenience. A single button located in the main part of the structure is responsible for it. By repeatedly pressing and holding the button, you can not only set the mode, but also enable/disable the device lock to protect it from accidental activation during transportation.

Power supply

The Fenix ​​Scout flashlight is powered by a single ARB-L14-2200U li-ion battery of size 14500, which has no "memory effect", is resistant to prolonged exposure to low temperatures, and can withstand about 300 charge/discharge cycles. In emergency situations, the branded power cell from the kit can be replaced with an alkaline AA battery with a nominal voltage of 1.5 V.

The battery is charged via the built-in USB Type-C port. It also features a colored indicator light that glows red when the battery is charging and turns green when the charge level reaches 100%.

Physical parameters

The body is made of shock-resistant, rust-resistant aluminum alloy, which protects the internal electronics from damage in the event of a fall from a height of 2 m. The matte, pleasant-to-the-touch surface of the case improves the quality of holding (in the case of using the model as a hand-held flashlight) and makes small scratches that may appear during a long service life less noticeable.

The degree of tightness of the shell is IP68. This is the maximum level, which means that the case does not let dirt and moisture inside in case of use in bad weather, falling under a powerful jet of water and even falling into water.

The model is supplied with a forehead attachment, the length of which can be easily adjusted to the size of the head using the regulator. The black elastic has no reflective inserts, so the user can remain anonymous in the dark without the risk of being detected by an intruder.
