Description of the Fenix ​​LD30R hand-held flashlight:

Powerful, durable and light — the Fenix ​​LD30R flashlight has all these characteristics, claiming the title of perhaps the best EDC model among similar lighting devices in the brand's assortment. Thanks to its compact size, the lantern can be carried with you on daily walks to illuminate the road in the dark. At the same time, its protection against moisture and brightness, which reaches 1700 lumens, are relevant for lovers of travel and active recreation, for whom a powerful and long-lasting light source is a guarantee not only of comfort, but also of safety.

Under the tempered glass of the lens is a single Luminus SST40 LED, which emits a light flux with a color temperature of about 6000K. This is a cold white light that exceeds the range of the warm spectrum beam. The smooth reflector also increases the range parameters of the beam, which is 257 meters. The head of the structure is framed by a metal bezel that protects the lens from damage.

In addition to spot lighting of objects at different degrees of distance, the lantern can be used for soft lighting of a small area — for this, you need to attach the Fenix ​​AOD-S V2.0 diffusion filter to the model (purchased separately).

The Fenix ​​LD30R flashlight has 7 operating modes. They are divided into 2 groups according to the type of lighting: 5 lighting options in the main group with constant light and 2 modes in the flashing group.

Main group

Flashing group

• Stroboscope: 1700 lm;
• SOS: 50 lm.

Keep in mind! Working time in Turbo mode is indicated taking into account the duration of work in modes with less bright light. They are sequentially activated in the order of decreasing power when the temperature of the internal electronics reaches a critical value of 60℃, and the intelligent overheating protection is triggered.

Control features

The model has a combined control type: the standard electronic switch is located in the main part of the lantern, and the second button is placed in the tail of the structure.

The buttons are responsible for different functionality:

• Enable / off momentary light: pressing the tail button activates a momentary light that turns off when the user releases the button.
• On. / off constant light: pressing the tail button all the way activates a constant light that does not turn off when you remove your finger from the switch. You can turn off the light by pressing the same button again.
• Changing the mode group: the light is automatically activated on the main mode group. The transition to the flashing group is carried out by pressing the side switch for 0.5 seconds with the lighting on. Similarly, you can go back to the main group.
• Switching modes in the main group: pressing the side switch when the light is on changes the modes in the following order: Moonlight → Low → Medium → High → Turbo.
• Switching modes in the flashing group: pressing the side switch once after entering the flashing group cycles through mode in order: Strobe → SOS.

Memory of the last mode — a useful option in the flashlight for those who do not want to spend extra time searching for their favorite brightness. This function works for modes from the main group as follows: the flashlight stores the power of the last mode in which the model was lit before turning off, and immediately activates it the next time it is turned on.

Power supply

The power supply for Fenix ​​LD30R recommended by the manufacturer — battery standard 18650, namely branded ARB-L18 with a capacity of 3400 mAh (nominal power 3.6 V). It can be charged directly in the battery compartment of the flashlight by connecting the charging cable from the set to the USB Type-C port. The port is located at the head of the case.

Using a 5V 2A power adapter, the battery charging process takes 3 hours. The indicator built into the electronic switch signals the end of charging. With this indicator, you can also track the remaining charge level every time you turn on the flashlight:

• Green (steady): 100% - 85%;
• Green (flashing): 85% - 50%;
• Red (steady): 50% - 25%;
• Red (flashing): 25% - 1%.

Instead of a rechargeable battery, 2 disposable CR123A lithium batteries (rated voltage 3.0V) can be used to power the model.

Other power supplies, such as LiFePO4 18650 or li-ion 16340, are prohibited.

Physical parameters

1 meter impact resistance is ensured by CNC machined aluminum body. The metal is not prone to corrosion, and the anti-abrasive anodized layer provides additional protection against oxidation in case of prolonged contact with aggressive environments. In the place where the body is held by the hand, a knurling is applied, which prevents the palm from sliding on the metal.

The body is completely dust and waterproof, as evidenced by the IP68 protection standard. In addition, the lantern continues to work even after half an hour immersion in water to a depth of 2 meters.

Taking into account the functionality and brightness of the lighting, the dimensions of the Fenix ​​LD30R are impressive: 129.7 mm (length) x 26.5 mm (head diameter) x 22.6 mm (tail diameter). You can store the lantern in the case from the set, and wear — on the belt, fixing the model with a removable clip. Especially since the case weighs only 132 grams with the battery installed.
