The search model LR40R V2.0 from Fenix is distinguished not only by the brightness of the light and a large set of modes, but also by significantly more compact dimensions compared to lighting devices of a similar type from other manufacturers. The flashlight can be held with one hand, and at the same time, its functionality is impressive with the presence of as many as seventeen LEDs (1 x Luminus SFT70, 16 x Lumileds HL2X), which generate an ultra-bright light flux of up to 15,000 lumens.

Lighting color temperature is 6000K. One of the advantages of cold white light is the range, which in this case is 900 meters. Another great feature of the LR40R V2.0 — the presence of an intelligent sensor that automatically reduces the lighting power when the flashlight is too close to the illuminated object.

The interface includes four full-fledged groups with different types of lighting: long-range group — a concentrated beam of light with increased range, dipped beam — modes with soft, close lighting with a wide angle, combined group — long-range options with wide illumination. A pair of flashing strobe and SOS modes are placed in a separate group.

Control Features

Under the head of the light you can find one control button and a toggle switch that rotates around it. The desired group of modes is selected with the help of a toggle switch, and the brightness of the light is set by pressing the button.

To enter the flashing group, it is enough to press the button for 1.2 seconds. After that, short clicks on the button will change the flashing modes.

Power source

The lantern has a block of three batteries (10.8 V / 5000 mAh), which allows the model to work continuously at minimum power for about one week.

On the side of the case there is a small plug that covers two USB ports. One port (Type-C, input) is designed for charging the battery pack of the flashlight, which takes about 4 hours, and the second port (USB-A, output) is suitable for charging third-party devices. Thanks to the Power Bank function, the model is especially useful in field conditions, when it is necessary to maintain the charge level of a smartphone or other equipment, but there is no access to the home power grid.

Physical parameters

Despite the increased light power, the LR40R V2.0 has a fairly compact body with dimensions of 175 x 82 x 55 mm. The A6061-T6 aluminum shell is rust-resistant and can withstand a 1-meter drop.

The weight of the model is 842.5 grams, but it is comfortable to hold in the hand thanks to the matte, anodized metal surface and knurling on the case. The wide ribs in the head of the structure are designed to quickly dissipate the heat of the internal electronics when they are working at the limit of their capabilities.

The lamp is protected against moisture and blockages according to the highest IP68 class, so it can work even at a depth of 2 meters for 4 hours. The design is also resistant to temperature changes from -35°C to 45°C.
