The flashlight works on the basis of the Luminus SFT40 LED, which emits illumination with a color temperature of 6500K (cool white) and a brightness of up to 1400 lumens. At this power, the beam is able to illuminate a distance of up to 344 m.

The useful features of the model include the function of remembering the last mode, as a result of which the lantern is activated at the brightness that worked before the device was turned off (it does not work for the Stroboscope mode).

Also, protection against low voltage is provided: when the voltage in the power source drops below the required level, the brightness of the lighting is automatically reduced until the minimum power is reached. After that, the color indicator will flash three times every 5 minutes as a reminder of the need to charge or replace the battery (the option only works if the battery from the kit is used).

The interface includes 5 working modes: 4 modes with constant lighting of different power and a strobe that generates bright flashes.

Please note! The indicated duration of the glow in the Turbo mode is calculated in the sum of the time of operation of the lantern in less bright modes, which are successively switched to a decrease in power after the protection is activated from overheating. The protection is activated every time the temperature of the electronics inside reaches ≥ 60°C. When the flashlight cools down, Turbo Mode will be available again.

Control Features

The Fenix ​​PD32R flashlight is controlled by a tail (tactical) switch. Its absolutely silent operation is the main advantage of this model and allows you to turn the device on and off silently, as well as set the desired brightness.

• Turn the flashlight on/off: press the tactical button all the way.
• Activate the instant light: press the button. If you release the button, the lighting is immediately deactivated.
• Mode change: touching the button while the flashlight is working. The modes are switched in the following order: Low → Medium → High → Turbo.
• Stroboscope activation: pressing the button for 0.5 s. To return to modes with constant lighting, you need to press the button once.

To prevent the flashlight from accidentally turning on, it is enough to loosen the connection of the tail part of the case and pull out the power supply.

Power supply

The operating voltage of the Fenix ​​PD32R is 2.9V - 6.0V. The maximum operating current is at the level of 5.2 A.

The model comes with a li-ion battery with a capacity of 3400 mAh, which does not have a "memory effect" and ensures uninterrupted operation of the device in conditions of sharp temperature changes. For its charging, a hidden USB Type-C port is provided in the case, which is protected against water and dust. Fully charging the battery using a 5 V / 2 A charging adapter takes 3 hours.

In order to monitor the remaining charge in the battery, the manufacturer provided a color indication. To access the function, the main part of the structure must be loosened. The indicator turns on for 3 s each time the lamp is turned on:

• Green steady: 100 - 85%;
• Green flashing: 85% - 50%;
• Red steady: 50% - 25%;
• Red flashing: 25% - 1%.

Alternative power option — several CR123A batteries. However, it should be noted that during their use the Turbo mode is unavailable and the Strobe brightness is reduced to 800 lumens.

The body is made of durable and rust-resistant A6061-T6 aluminum with premium HAIII anodized coating. The metal is not afraid of mechanical impact and protects the internal electronics from damage caused by the impact of the lantern when it falls from a height of one meter.
