Fenix PD35R flashlight — is an updated version of the Fenix UC35 V2.0 that has been redesigned with a focus on tactical use, featuring a concentrated light beam and an increased beam range of up to 353 meters. The Luminus SFT40 LED is built into the model. It generates light of a cold white shade of 6500K and a brightness of up to 1700 lumens, which allows you to effectively illuminate small objects at a long distance. The service life of the diode reaches 50 thousand hours, which is equivalent to about 5.5 years of light.

For the maximum efficiency of the lantern, it is recommended to use a branded Li-ion battery with the form factor 18650 — Fenix ARB-L18 with a capacity of 3400 mAh, which is included in the basic configuration. The operating voltage of the device varies from 2.85 V to 6 V. The power element is placed in the battery compartment, which is protected from moisture and dirt thanks to the sealing ring. The USB Type-C charging port is located in the main part of the case and allows you to fill the battery capacity without the need to remove it from the battery compartment. Charging the Fenix ARB-L18 battery to 100% takes about 3 hours. The port is protected by a silicone plug, which prevents contact with moisture during the operation of the model in difficult weather conditions.

As an alternative power source, the use of several frost-resistant CR123A batteries is allowed. However, in this case, the Turbo mode and the color indication of the charge level are unavailable to the user, and the Strobe function mode will work at 1000 lumens instead of 1700 lumens.

Fenix PD35R has six operating modes: five options with constant light and an auxiliary Strobe mode that generates bright flashes with a certain frequency. They allow you to disorient the enemy or send light signals indicating the location of the user.

Working time in Turbo mode is indicated in the sum with work in less bright modes after triggering the intelligent protection against overheating when the temperature of the internal electronics rises to 60°C. This option allows you to minimize the risk of damage to the power cells and the LED due to excessive heating. After cooling the case, Turbo mode is again available to the user.

Lighting power also gradually decreases when the voltage drops below the required value. Once the lowest Eco mode is reached, the color indicator will flash three times every 5 minutes, reminding you to charge the battery or replace the disposable batteries.

Control Features

The Fenix PD35R is controlled via a dual switch in the tail of the case, allowing you to instantly activate the device and change the available modes even when wearing thick tactical gloves. The buttons have different sizes and surfaces so that the user does not confuse them and can feel the necessary switch even in the dark.

A large round button — this is a tactical switch that is responsible for instant activation of the flashlight. Smaller oval-shaped button — a function switch that is designed to change the active mode and control the Strobe mode.

Color indication

There is a colored indicator under the charging port, which lights up green or red depending on the battery charge level.

When the charge of the power source reaches a critical low mark, the indicator notifies the user with periodic flashes. During charging, the indicator lights up in red, changing to green when 100% charge is reached.

Physical parameters

The Fenix PD35R flashlight has a metal body made of aviation aluminum alloy A6061-T6 and anodized. The dark matte coating performs two important functions: it makes the metal stronger (the impact resistance of the model is 1 meter) and hides small scratches on a smooth surface.

Water protection according to the IP68 standard ensures the case is completely airtight with the possibility of use not only during heavy rains, but also in case of submersion under water to a depth of 2 meters. To maintain proper protection against moisture and dust, regular maintenance of the lantern, including the O-ring, is recommended. If this element has become unusable, it is enough to replace it with a new one included in the basic set.

This tactical flashlight has compact dimensions of 136 x 25.4 x 23.2 millimeters and can be used as a hand-held or under-barreled model. The weight of the case with the battery installed is 140 grams.
