The Fenix ARE-D2 model is suitable for those buyers who need a universal charger. It is able to work with batteries of 9 different formats. These are lithium-ion batteries 10440, 14500, 16340, 18650, 21700, 26650, nickel-metal hydride or less common nickel-cadmium AA, AAA, C. In addition, the device is compatible with tourist solar panels.

To charge the battery, you need to install it in the slot for the charger, and then connect it to the network. Fenix ARE-D2 independently identifies the battery and will select the optimal program for it. However, the user still has the option to manually select the appropriate current strength option. There are 3 options for lithium electrolyte batteries: 0.5A, 1A, 2A. For nickel-based power elements of options 2: 0.5 A and 1A. The amperage selection function will be available within 8 seconds after switching on the Fenix ARE-D2.

All information about the battery charging process and their current status will be displayed on the display. In addition to the charging current, it displays the voltage, battery capacity, and charging time. The data will be switched by simply pressing the button of the corresponding slot. The display can be turned off by holding down the button for 2 seconds.

For the Fenix ARE-D2 model, the discharge function in the Power bank mode is also provided. It works only with lithium-ion batteries of any of the available formats. With the help of this function, you can charge a smartphone, GPS tracker, or other equipment, even in production conditions. The battery charging function is not available at this time.

The Fenix ARE-D2 charger is equipped with a charge indicator with 5 lights. If only one of them turns on and flashes, the battery contains no more than 20% of the charge. If 1 light is constantly lit, and the second one flashes, then the charge level is 21%-40%. If 2 lights are constantly on and 1 is blinking, then the charge level is 41%-60%. When 3 lights are on, and 1 is flashing, the charge inside the battery is 61%-80%. If 4 lights are on and the heel is flashing, the charge in the battery is already 81%-100%. If all 5 lights are on, the battery is fully charged. After that, for lithium-ion batteries, the charger turns off, preventing overcharging, and with nickel-based batteries, it switches to low-current charging mode - about 100 mA.
